The English Center • New Wix Website

Kelsey runs an English language school in Langenthal Switzerland. She uses her website to promote upcoming classes and share news with her existing students. But her current website, built on Joomla, was extremely difficult for her to update, which she needed to do frequently as new classes started every quarter. It also had an outdated look and feel, struggling to appeal to the two distinct target audiences, adults and children. Our last challenge was building the website in dual language, German and English, which in some cases doubled the work.

I built the new website on Wix, completely restructuring and streamlining the content to make it easier for both her customers and students to find what they needed quickly. We added online registration forms, replacing the cumbersome paper stacks in her office and enabling her to build a customer database for future email marketing promotions. From the beginning, I was training Kelsey to use Wix, so she could edit content directly at the same time I was building the website.

This was a joint project with Hayley from Craft Chameleon, who created a new logo and brand style, cleverly dividing the content into two color groups to visually separate content for adults and children. She also created many graphical elements that incorporated into the website, reinforcing the brand and adding visual interest.

This project was a great example of enabling my clients to help themselves. Soon after initial build and turnover, Kelsey was updating and moving around content to match new needs of her business and students, exactly how a website should be. And the best news was within days of the website launch, she acquired two new students directly through the contact form.
