The American Women’s Club of Zurich is a long-standing social club, providing activities, events and support to women of all nationalities who appreciate the American way of life. Their website is a core part of their offering, promoting events, sharing resources and managing membership.
Their old website was custom built on an old technology that made it very difficult to update content or change anything about the website. I worked closely with Rachel, a club volunteer, to choose a new platform that would meet all their membership needs.
We selected Wild Apricot, which is an online solution specifically designed for membership organization, with lots of special features that would require lots of add-ons to other platforms. I quickly learned this new tool, ultimately rebuilding the website on the new platform, porting over all the content, and customizing the template within the somewhat limited Wild Apricot constraints.
Although it took a little time to get used to the new site, administrators and members are much happier with the end result that is more flexible, more user friendly and much easier to update.
